Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Special Interest Group
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Special Interest Group (SIG) will provide a national networking forum for members who are interested in promoting diversity in the field of pediatric hematology/oncology. The DEI SIG aims to support the advancement of all ASPHO members and the field through increasing diversity and inclusiveness in a broad sense in the membership and leadership of ASPHO, as well as the home institutions of members.
Example themes of the SIG include identifying and overcoming barriers to academic success for women and historically underrepresented minorities. Academic success, as well as promoting diversity, goes beyond race, ethnicity, and gender to include other issues such as age, social class, foreign graduate status, sexual orientation, and religion.
