Honoring Excellence
ASPHO's award program honors outstanding individuals in the pediatric hematology/oncology profession. Each year, individuals are honored for their contributions and discoveries in the subspecialty.
Recognize excellence in the subspeciality by nominating colleagues or yourself for prestigious ASPHO Awards. Nomintations are accepted year-round. Links to submit a nomination can be found on each award page linked below.
Nominations for the 2025 ASPHO Award cycle are now closed. The 2025 ASPHO Awards will be presented at the 2025 ASPHO Conference, May 7-10, in Louisville, KY.

Distinguished Career Award
The Distinguished Career Award is presented annually by ASPHO to a senior physician or other professional who during his or her career has had a major impact on the subspecialty through some combination of research, education, patient care, and advocacy.
Frank A. Oski Memorial Lectureship Award
The annual Frank A. Oski Memorial Lectureship remembers Dr. Frank Oski and honors an outstanding clinical or laboratory investigator in pediatric hematology/oncology whose cutting-edge research is of the caliber of the investigations made by Dr. Oski.
George R. Buchanan Lectureship
The George R. Buchanan Lectureship Award is presented annually by ASPHO to honor Dr. Buchanan and assure that future generations of pediatric hematology/oncology specialists are aware of his significant contribution to ASPHO and the field.
Young Investigator Award
The ASPHO Young Investigator Award recognizes excellence in research in pediatric hematology/oncology. Fellows and faculty members who are less than 4 years post-fellowship are eligible for the award.
Early Career Travel Stipend Award
ASPHO awards pediatric hematology/oncology fellows with travel stipends to the conference. The award allows fellows to present their abstracts in platform sessions at the conference.
Advanced Practice Provider Travel Award
The Advanced Practice Provider Travel Award was established to provide funding for deserving advanced practice providers to attend the ASPHO Conference, present their work, and introduce them to the many benefits of ASPHO programming and networking.
Northwestern Mutual Award for Excellence in Childhood Cancer Survivorship
The Northwestern Mutual Award for Excellence in Childhood Cancer Survivorship will annually recognize outstanding contributions of practicing professionals dedicated to this segment of the pediatric hematology/oncology field.
